COUNTERMEASURE 2012 is Ottawa's premier computer security conference featuring the best of both offensive and defensive tactics. Computer security is about countermeasures. If you play defense you aim to contain adversaries by implementing countermeasures. If you play offense you study countermeasures in an attempt to find novel ways to defeat them. And of course some of us play on both sides of the fence. No defensive technique is perfect and no offensive technique is successful every time. Whether it's the latest social engineering technique or a new memory protection mechanism for your operating system, there are always two sides to consider in computer security.
COUNTERMEASURE 2012 will bring together computer security practitioners from academia, government and the private sector, to share experience and knowledge, and to collaborate on the new challenges facing the field of computer security.
